As mayor, my vision is to cultivate a vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable city where every resident thrives. Fostering a community that embraces diversity, champions innovation, and prioritizes environmental stewardship. Together, we will enhance public safety, improve infrastructure, and ensure equitable access to needed resources. Our city will be a model of collaboration and civic engagement, where every voice is heard, and every individual has the opportunity to contribute to a brighter future. United in our efforts, we will create a city that not only meets the needs of today but also inspires generations to come.

Welcome to the City of Goshen

Nestled in the picturesque Ozark Mountains, Goshen is a quaint town that embodies the spirit of community and the beauty of nature. Founded in the 1800s and officially incorporated in 1982, Goshen is home to a close-knit population of just over 2,100 residents (as per the 2010 Census) and has earned recognition as Arkansas’s "most educated" city, according to Business Insider.

Our town is ideally located just seven miles east of Fayetteville, where the stunning White River converges with Richland Creek at the iconic Twin Bridges—a favorite spot for seasonal white bass fishing. The natural beauty surrounding Goshen provides a perfect backdrop for outdoor adventures and family gatherings.

Goshen boasts a rich agricultural heritage, with its landscape dotted by charming hay fields, thriving cattle farms, and equine facilities, offering a genuine hometown feel. The legacy of families who have cultivated their land for generations adds to the town’s unique character and sense of belonging.

A significant part of our history is the Goshen Post Office, which was recently added to the National Register of Historic Places. Established in 1874 as College Grove, the name was changed to Goshen in 1876. By the 1880s, the community had developed into a bustling hub with two stores, a flour and meal mill, and a small schoolhouse that also served as a church. Notably, William T. Blake opened a blacksmith shop in the late 1880s, contributing to the town’s early economy and community life.

At the heart of our community lies Mill Branch Park, a sprawling 113-acre oasis designed for outdoor enthusiasts of all ages. Our aim is to create a welcoming and accessible space that encourages individuals to connect with nature. We prioritize environmental conservation, actively work to eliminate invasive species, and develop captivating areas that inspire community engagement and environmental stewardship. Through these initiatives, we strive to enhance the quality of life for everyone and foster a lasting appreciation for our natural resources.

For those who appreciate the vibrancy of city living, Goshen offers the best of both worlds. Just a short drive from the University of Arkansas, our town provides convenient access to a plethora of shopping, dining, and entertainment options. Major corporations such as Walmart, Tyson, and JB Hunt are located nearby, contributing to a growing local economy. Additionally, you can explore popular attractions like Beaver Lake, the Crystal Bridges Museum, The Walmart AMP (Arkansas Music Pavilion), The Walton Arts Center, and the breathtaking Devil's Den State Park.

Goshen is not just a place to live; it’s a community that celebrates its history, embraces its rural charm, and looks toward a bright future. If you’re searching for a welcoming small town with a rich cultural tapestry and easy access to urban amenities, Goshen is the perfect destination. We invite you to visit us, explore Mill Branch Park, and discover the warmth of our community for yourself!
